Reality Gives 

Reality Gives, formed in 2009, is the sister organization of the ethically run tour company: Reality Tours and Travel, which commits 80% of their post-tax profits to support their work. Based in Dharavi, our work has centered on the local communities desire for further education. Sharing this belief on the importance of education they have created a range of programs to help young people from these communities to expand their horizons and maximize their potential. These programs are centered on bespoke, quality curricula which they deliver through teachers they train and develop themselves, in collaboration with sector experts.

Participant Profile: Letizia De Martino (Executive Director)

Letizia is Italian and has been in India Since 2007. She completed her studies in Oriental Cultures and Language with a major in Chinese, but ended up in India following my passion for the social sector. Her interest in Asia, passion for travelling and social work brought her to India through an Italian Government volunteer program, supposed to last for one year, but she never went back. She worked for two years on an Income Generating Program for women of Mumbai slum, after which she joined the corporate sector for three years at the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and finally she met Reality Gives and realized her dream of running an NGO doing really good work for slum communities.
