Project KHEL
Project KHEL is a non-profit, which uses playful and interactive methods to engage with children and arm them with 21st century Life Skills, provide them with various educational and leadership development opportunities, and also awareness on crucial issues thus taking education beyond the classroom and into the play spaces. It also aims to transform adolescents into responsible members of the society, who are able to make informed decisions and eventually become positive agents of change within their communities.
Participant Profile: Akshai Abram (Founder and Director)
Akshai founded Project KHEL in 2012 – an amalgamation of his love for sports and co-curricular and his interest in working for the underprivileged at the grassroots level. An MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, he has over 10 years of experience including 8+ years in the social sector. Prior to this, he was the Program Head of the Development Metrics Group at the Center for Development Finance (CDF) – IFMR, Chennai. Akshai has also been involved with social sector studies commissioned by international agencies such as the World Bank, USAID, UNICEF, etc. and also worked with Aide-et-Action, an international NGO where he worked in fund-raising and education development programs. He is also an avid sportsman and enthusiast.
