Medha Learning Foundation
Medha has been working on employability crisis in India for the past five years to better prepare India’s youth for life after school. Medha provides 21st Century skills training , career guidance, mentorship, on-the-job training, and placement support to low-income and disadvantaged students between the ages of 16 – 25. Since 2011, Medha has trained over 3,000 students across 25 degree colleges, worked with 200 leading employers and built a public-private partnership with the government of Uttar Pradesh. Medha aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by eventually mainstreaming its programs into the existing public sector education system.
Participant Profile: Sarita Upadhyay (Vice President – Student Relations)
Sarita has over 13 years of experience in client and customer services, training and development, and operations management. She has vast corporate and academia experience. Sarita is also a member of the Senior Management Team and is involved in all strategic decisions related to the Medha program. Prior to Medha, Sarita worked with Aviva U.K for more than 6 years in Pune as Credit Control Manager before moving back to her hometown of Lucknow. Aviva has recognized Sarita on a number of occasions for her exceptional performance in different roles. She was chosen to pilot a process and system change in the Pune office and successfully implemented Oracle systems. She also led a team of trainers that trained over 400 employees in three months. Sarita is a science graduate from Lucknow University and has also earned an M.B.A – HR and Information Management degrees.
