EnAble India is a non-profit organization working for the economic independence and dignity of persons with disabilities since 1999. They believe that persons with disability engaged in livelihoods are important to the growth of the economy, and that the solutions and models of inclusion built for persons with disability benefits all sections of society. They are thought leaders in livelihoods for persons with disability, pioneers in employability models and workplace solutions. EnAble India also is the driving force behind Enable Academy, India’s online collaborative community initiative for mainstreaming livelihoods of persons with disability.
Participant Profile: Moses Chowdari Gorrepati (Program Manager - Training and Solutions)
Moses has 6 years' experience in enabling visually impaired to gain IT skills. Moses has trained 200 + personnel (including trainers from United Kingdom, Mauritius, Gambia, Afghanistan and Nepal) for visually impaired in NGOs, PSUs and companies. In his capacity as a 'work-place solutions' specialist he has been instrumental in opening up jobs in sectors like IT, ITES, travel, E-commerce, hospitality and more. He is actively involved in making workplaces inclusive through sensitization programs for employers. He has conducted sensitization programmes at companies like IBM, Hindustan Unilever, etc. and has been instrumental in inspiring a young generation of visually impaired to aspire for computer based jobs through career workshops conducted at different places in India and Mauritius.
