Chris is the Co-Founder of Medha, an employability education and career development organization based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Under Chris’ leadership, Medha has trained and placed over 3000 students across 35 educational institutions, worked with 200 leading employers, and built a public-private partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Medha is supported by leading global foundations and corporations such as Citi Foundation, American India Foundation, and Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Along with his co-founder, Chris was awarded the prestigious Echoing Green Global Fellowship in 2012 for his work at Medha. Prior to founding Medha, Chris received a joint MBA/MA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. During his graduate studies, Chris completed an Islamic Banking project for Barclays Bank in Dubai, evaluated rural investment opportunities at IDFC Private Equity in Mumbai, conducted market research and built the initial team for an employability training program at an NGO in Jharkhand, and surveyed the skills training industry for Sequoia Capital. Before graduate school, Chris was the Director of Business Development at SKS Microfinance in Hyderabad, where he was responsible for all growth related initiatives, including new product, segment, and channel development. Chris successfully launched SKS’ Health Insurance and Urban Microfinance products as well as managed a number of additional growth related projects including mobile banking. Prior to SKS, Chris was Director of Business Development at Business Development Institute (BDI), an early-stage strategic consulting firm in New York City.
