Swasti
Swasti is a health resource centre established in 2002, registered in 2004, with a focus on achieving public health outcomes for those who are socially excluded and poor. Swasti is a niche service provider in the public health sector, delivering end-to-end solutions as well as short and long term support and facilitation, combining research and practice. Their mission is Empowering people and communities, particularly poor and marginalized, to make the right choices to lead healthy lives; through innovation, knowledge, technical support and policy shaping.
Participant Profile: Joseph Julian K G (Director)
With over 17 years of experience in the development sector (Public Health and in particular HIV), Julian has been working with range of stakeholders from grassroots to policy level in the South Asia/South East Asia, West African Region. He holds postgraduate degree in Social Work and English Literature, and has undertaken assignments for partners of NORAD, USAID, AUSAid and DFID, UN organizations (UNIFEM, UNAIDS, UNODC, UNDP, World Bank), Government machineries (National AIDS Control Organization - India, National Drug Control Boards – Sri Lanka and Nepal, State AIDS Control Organization – India, Railways-India, National Centre for AIDS and STD Control – Nepal, National AIDS/STD Program – Bangladesh, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Nigeria, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Kerala, India), DFID supported HIV prevention programs in India, GFATM programs, Save the Children UK - Bangladesh etc.
